About the conference Future on the East-West Corridor
The upcoming Conference Green Transition for Economic Prosperity: Future on the East-West Corridor (GTEP) is co-organized by AmCham Vietnam with our partners, Thua Thien Hue People's Committee, the Power and Energy Working Group under the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF PEWG) and the Institute for International Education (IIE).
Our Objectives
Building upon the success of 2022 Meet the Green Thua Thien – Hue with more than 300 participants, this year’s Green Transition for Economic Prosperity: Future on the East-West Corridor event is expanding its reach. Towards green and sustainable development of the Central region and Vietnam in general as well as the future development of the East-West economic corridor, the event aims to drive socio-economic development in the province and its surrounding regions with three main objectives:
Raise awareness
Among Local and Regional authorities on the necessary conditions for private investment in green and clean power transition projects
Foster dialogue
Among stakeholders (government, business, academia) to support climate change adaptation and local energy transition initiatives
Present proposed mechanisms
Towards the net-zero targets, offering suggestions for the green energy transition process of Vietnam and Central provinces
In this context, this conference brings business leaders, policymakers, industry experts and prominent academics into sustained dialogue on these topics.
With this conference, we will gather all local authorities, private investors, businesses, academia, and research institutions to discuss how to prepare for the economic development of the Central Region and the East-West economic corridor with clean energy as a key driver and your own insights are critical – so please come ready to both explore and engage.
